Attachment
Parenting is a philosophy that
emphasizes responsiveness to a child's emotional needs, encouraging the
development of trust that those needs will be met. We believe that this
strong early attachment will help our children develop secure, empathic,
peaceful, and enduring relationships. Attachment
Parenting International (API) is a non-profit organization that networks with parents and
professionals around the world. In addition to providing guidance for local
Attachment Parenting support groups, API provides educational materials,
research information, and consultative services to promote Attachment
Parenting. API
of East Portland, Oregon offers a
supportive environment for the discussion of attachment parenting
issues. We meet to share our
experiences and to brainstorm together about our parenting—successes and
challenges alike. Meetings
are held the fourth Friday of every
month at 10:30 AM. We are no longer meeting at Zenana Spa. Our
new meeting location will be announced soon!
The June 26 meeting will be a
